Scottish Water has continued its successful partnership with Beautiful Perth as volunteers from the publicly-owned utility joined forces with the local charity to plant vibrant new blooms in planters that were donated last year.
This week Scottish Water team members rolled up their sleeves alongside Beautiful Perth volunteers to plant shrubs and seasonal flowers along Tay Street, bringing a splash of colour to the area in time for spring.
Scottish Water’s Project Manager, Con McDevitt, said, “We were delighted to once again work with Beautiful Perth to leave a positive and lasting impact on the fair city.
“While our essential infrastructure upgrades continue, it’s important to us that we also contribute to the beauty and vibrancy of the local community. We look forward to seeing these planters in full bloom in the coming months.”

The initiative comes as Scottish Water’s multi-million-pound “Super Sewer” project reaches its final stages. This significant investment currently being delivered along Tay Street and Shore Road involves the installation of an upgraded 2.2m diameter sewer pipeline.
The upgraded sewer will play a key role in supporting the city’s continued growth, while also reducing the risk of sewer flooding affecting low-lying areas near the Tay between Muirton and the city centre.
Chair of Beautiful Perth, Gordon Lindsay, said, “This is a fantastic example of how organisations can work together to make a real difference.
“With Scottish Water’s support, we have been able to bring new life to the area, creating an environment that is welcoming for locals and visitors alike.”
Over-pumping equipment on Tay Street is currently being dismantled, with reinstatement of the road to follow afterwards.
The project remains on track for completion at the beginning of May, after which Perth and Kinross Council will carry out further reinstatement work on the road. Traffic management measures will remain in place during this time.
