Markle Steading East Linton Water Main Upgrade
Project Overview
We are taking care of the water network at Markle Steading to ensure customers continue to enjoy fresh, clear drinking water for years to come, and reduce the chance of pipes bursting.
Work will begin on Monday, 7 October for nine weeks.
The work will be carried out by our delivery partner, Cleantech Civils.

What to expect?
A section of road at Markle Steading and the Rail Level Crossing will be closed for the duration of the work. Please take care and allow extra time for journeys while following diversion routes, which will be via Pencraig Brae and East Linton Village.
No traffic, except for emergency vehicles, will be permitted through the rail crossing. Contingency plans are in place with the council for the local school bus to collect and drop off pupils as normal.
The East Coast Railway Line will not be impacted by the work and will continue to operate as normal. Local resident access will also be maintained.
We will be operating Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 18:00. All efforts will be made to minimise disruption where possible.
We would like to thank residents and road users for their patience and understanding throughout the period of essential work.
